Meaning Before Form: Aligning Our Core Commitments & the I Ching

Updated: Mar 25

At ODNOS, we believe curiosity fuels transformation.

That’s why we set aside weekly Whitespace—dedicated time to explore whatever sparks inspiration, whether directly tied to client work or not. This open space for exploration often leads to unexpected connections—like this one.

The I Ching, or Book of Changes, is one of the oldest systems of wisdom, rooted in the understanding that change is the only constant. It maps the natural rhythms of transformation, balance, and decision-making—concepts deeply relevant to how we navigate work, relationships, and innovation.

In our process of designing visual expressions for our six core commitments, we explored aligning each value with one of these ancient hexagrams, as another way of defining and shaping our ethos.

This visual is the first step in our journey—mapping meaning before form. In the coming weeks, we’ll dive deeper into each value and its hexagram.

Curiosity isn’t just about seeking knowledge—it’s about embracing the ever-changing nature of work and creativity. This is just the beginning.
